Stress Management

No matter our circumstance, everyone faces some kind of stress in their daily lives. Some stress is useful and can create a sense of urgency to achieve progress. However, too much stress is a burden and stunts our mental and emotional growth. It's important to deal with stress, so we can live comfortably and focus on what matters. 

For all of us, life will always be filled with adversity. The only way to keep growing is to calm the chaos. The most important thing we can do is schedule time for ourselves. This needs to be our number one priority. When we take care of ourselves, we can take care of others. How we spend our alone time depends on what relaxes us the most and gives us a sense of calm. 

Exercise. One of the best outlets we can do is to workout. From lifting weights to running. Pick the activity that you enjoy the most and get your heart rate pumping. Exercising releases our "feel good" hormones and negates a lot of stress hormones. It boosts our immune system and puts us in a euphoric mental state. This is by far most people's go to for stress relief. 

Do something you love. When we're feeling overwhelmed, it's best to immerse ourselves into something we really love. This could be a video game, a sport, or even socializing with friends. Whatever you really love doing, just do it. This puts ourselves in a state of relaxation and we focus our attention to something fulfilling rather than focusing on stress.

Meditation. A classic, timeless stress relief. When in doubt, meditate. Go somewhere quiet, get comfortable, and focus on your breath. Allow yourself to let go of all thoughts and relax your mind. Free yourself from everything external and create inner bliss. Meditation is one of the greatest ways to relieve any kind of stress. 

Whatever life throws at us, it's vital we understand how to handle it. We're going to face many challenges and being able to cope with obstacles will ease the internal and external pressures. From exercising to meditating, we can all find something that puts our minds at ease.
